Project Officer - Independence & Wellbeing Team (IWT)     

Salary: Band: 7, £29,777£ 33,945 p.a. (£16,900 - £19,266 for 21 hours)

21 hours per week (Flexible working Monday - Friday, however flexible working may include occasional evening and weekend work as part of normal conditions of service. 

Location: The work base is the Civic Offices however, depending on service need, you may be required to work in the PO1 - PO6 area.

Your New Role 

The Project Officer is required to support the delivery of social, healthy and/or physical activity groups across the city for adults who are or may be at risk of social isolation and loneliness or on the cusp or requiring health or social care services. You will work with an IWT Community Development Officer to support the groups into self-sustainability by developing a partnership approach with local statutory and non-statutory partners as well as with existing community groups.  Within the role you will deliver and facilitate group activities including, but not limited to gardening, cookery, arts and crafts, physical and social activities.  You will design and/or deliver activities, training, presentation and workshops and develop and disseminate promotional materials whilst maintaining accurate quantitative and qualitative records of the project delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

With experience of delivering and facilitating group activities you will have good literacy and numeracy, IT skills and excellent communication and presentation skill.  The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. As well as a good knowledge and understanding of different community engagement approaches you will have knowledge and experience of safeguarding legislation and experience of collaborating with marginalised communities and/or vulnerable people.  Organised and methodical with a flexible approach to working you will be physically able to meet the physical demands of the job e.g, carrying shopping, moving equipment, demonstrating activities to participants.  In addition you will be a car driver with access to transport or able to easily access public transport to move across the City.
