Job Description

National Role

The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) will assess quality across HC-One care homes and other services through an intelligence based internal assessment programme and provide quality improvement advice and support to operational and central support colleagues in order to support them to improve the quality of service to people we care for.

The QAM will work with the Senior Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that Quality Assurance processes are robust across all services, providing regular reports on service quality and improvement actions.

Conducting a busy internal assessment schedule of quality and compliance at home level, the QAM will provide clear and focused feedback to Home Managers during inspections, followed up with concise and timely reports that identify service strengths and focus on actions needed, and will guide and coach Home Managers to ensure they understand HC-One's clinical and quality governance frameworks, care quality processes and the requirements of our regulators.

This role will require very frequent travel and the ability to regularly stay overnight. Travel is Nationwide, with a portfolio predominately focussed across the Midlands and Wales. However, there is an expectation of travel to any location as required.

Closing Date:  Tuesday 30th April 2024

With a degree level qualification, or significant equivalent experience, you will have demonstrable experience in either a Social Care environment, Regulatory or Local Authority Contracts / Quality Team.

You will have up to date knowledge of Regulations and Legislation across CQC, CIW and CI, knowledge and understanding of person centred / led care planning and the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and knowledge of Local Authority quality assessment and contract management frameworks.

A confident communicator, you will have experience of developing services to achieve improvements, of completing inspections / audits and of working with Regulations and of proactively conducting and managing Residents reviews, taking account of the Resident or their Representatives' needs and wishes.

With concise and accurate record keeping skills, you will be able to interpret information and report back, to use complex systems to analyse large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data to determine trends and themes, and be able to identify root causes of issues and remain focussed on their resolution.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
