Location: Cowes

Salary: Up to £55,800 dependent on experience

What you will be doing:

  • Apply a breadth of expertise and knowledge (typically electro-mechanical and civil) to support complex system installation in both the Land and Naval domains
  • Be capable of fielding customer technical queries and tasking multi-disciplinary engineers in their resolution where required
  • Support international travel to attend visits to customer sites for survey, design and support to radar installation
  • The radar equipment you'll be working on is built and tested at our Cowes site on the Isle of Wight, this will be the primary location for the role - Some site attendance is essential to develop a true understanding of the systems

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Electro-mechanical background is preferred with some Civil Engineering experience as a highly beneficial
  • Installation and/or Physical Integration of Complex Systems
  • Previous experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment
  • Experience working with customers, preferably across Defence, Ship Build and Land Based Radars
  • Working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle

Desirable

  • Experience gathering of evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety
  • Familiarity with Standards across the defence industry (DEFSTAN, MIL STD)

The BAE Systems Radar Team:

BAE Systems Radar business delivers Naval and Land Radar products and support services to a diverse range of customers worldwide. This role is responsible for the radar installation design and overseeing the installation services, including the conduct of site surveys and reports as well as interfacing with the radar project teams and customer client base. The role will involve local and international travel to enable radar upgrades and new installations across naval and land-based platforms for our customers. You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge across the radar portfolio, with the potential to lead more senior positions within a global business.
