                1 x permanent vacancy – Ramsgate location

1 x temporary vacancy for 18 months (covering maternity) – Maidstone location 

Salary:   Grade 5 - £30,164 - £34,061 per annum

Hours:    37 hours per week, which includes some evening and Saturday working

Being a Safe and Well Officer

Do you want to help people feel safe in their homes?

Safe and Well Officers visit customers in their homes to help them live safely and maintain independence. You will improve fire safety for customers and offer support alongside other agencies to support customers’ health and wellbeing.

The role of a Safe and Well Officer is a predominantly lone working role. An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken before an offer of appointment can be made.

 

What you’ll do

  • Visit customers in their homes and assess the risk of fire
  • Offer and fit free fire prevention equipment
  • Where required, work alongside multi-agencies to ensure the customer has a holistic package of support
  • Work closely with KFRS safeguarding team to ensure vulnerable customers are appropriately supported.
  • You will have a local base station but will be required to work county wide and have use of a fire service vehicle

  • Effective communication skills to help enact change with the ability to act sensitively
  • Experience of safeguarding and confidential working
  • Good literacy skills and time management
