Secure Communications is part of Airbus Defence and Space, Europe’s leading defence company. We are a world leader in military satellite communication services, providing solutions that benefit from the company’s 40+ years of experience delivering and maintaining communication services for military and defence users.

We offer the broadest portfolio of services available today for this segment, from mission-specific solutions based on user needs, to the creation of complete end-to-end solutions, including services and support for full operational capability.

To achieve this, we are a systems and service integrator with a focus on ground segment, system integration and services for military space, including integrating Airbus satellites designed and built in the UK. We have a global reputation for high quality delivery and we partner with other world leading companies to achieve the best outcomes for our customers.

This role is about winning new business. Working within a team of technical subject matter experts you will be responsible for ensuring that our solutions are aligned to customer security requirements and the needs of the project stakeholders, across the whole range of security considerations. You will be instrumental in creating a compelling customer offer.

To that end, it is key that you understand the customers’ needs, strategy, doctrine and regulatory frameworks for operational, information and system security. You will also understand the business drivers and incentives, risks, win themes for the opportunity, and ensure these run through the solution as a golden thread.

The ability to build and maintain relationships with our customer community is all important, building trust by doing what we say we will do; therefore, the role requires a balance of a positive and can-do attitude, an eye for technical detail and business acumen to identify risk and opportunity.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Be the Security expert within bid teams; providing guidance to the technical teams on all matters of security operations and system design in accordance with the latest UK Defence and Governmental requirements

  • Provide the primary customer and business interface for the security solution during the sales campaign and implementation of the solution once on contract

  • Produce the Work Package Descriptions and customer artefacts required of the bid solution

  • Clearly articulate the solution against the customer requirements, particularly with respect to Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and Opportunities (RAIDO)

  • Produce Security related statements of work for sub-contractors that form part of the solution and review sub-contractors’ proposals

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrable expertise in UK MOD and Governmental security requirements for the supply chain delivering communications system projects and services

  • Be able to assimilate customer requirements and system/service designs to ensure compliance with security considerations, frameworks and standards e.g. NIST, ISO27001, JSP440 and JSP604.

  • A broad range and depth of all aspects of security that pertain to UK governmental contracts, with the ability to guide design specialists to ensure they include relevant security matters within their parts of the solution

  • Be able to identify and articulate security RAIDO matters in the solution

  • Must have the ability to review material with a critical and detailed view, ensuring the best quality for the bid submission
