Senior Audit Manager - Technology and Digital

Job Description

About Us:

At Direct Line Group, insurance is just the start. Combining decades of industry experience with talented people in every field from data, technology, customer care and auto repair, to HR, finance, and procurement, we're a customer-obsessed market powerhouse. And we all work together to be brilliant for customers, every single day.

Our Group Internal Audit function is the central office of impartial accountability. Delving deep into our operations and how we serve our customers, they navigate complex landscapes to ensure compliance and ethical standards, playing a vital role in maintaining the trust our customers and stakeholders place in us. Continuously evolving methods of safeguarding our organisation, they ensure that our commitment to excellence is unwavering.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Audit Manager with a deep understanding of the Digital Domain to join our Group Audit (GA) function.  Reporting to our Audit Associate Director for Digital, you will play a crucial role in identifying and managing key risks, driving continuous improvement, and influencing governance and control processes at a strategic and group-wide level, across Engineering, Data and Cyber Security.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive, risk-based audit plan, leveraging your deep understanding of external and internal perspectives on our digital risk profile.
  • Lead portfolio of audits with hands-on involvement for timely and effective delivery.
  • Apply digital expertise to thematic audits and provide cross-cutting insights to deliver value across the function.
  • Managing the delivery of assigned audits, leading, managing, and coaching team members.
  • Leverage data throughout the audit life cycle, from risk assessment to reporting.
  • Assessing and mitigating complex risks, leveraging a strategic understanding of business risks beyond individual audits.
  • Collaborate on strategic improvements within the GA function.
  • Leading by example in both technical audit expertise and leadership qualities to drive a high-performance culture within the function.
  • Deputise for the Digital Audit Director on key executive and governance forums, and offering challenge and insight as required.

What We're Looking For:

We value expertise, leadership, and a strategic mindset.

We're looking for someone with technical audit expertise who is experienced in audit methodologies, risk assessment and control evaluation.

Extensive knowledge of the technology stack across applications and infrastructure, including networks and cloud is essential - you'll have a grasp of the unique challenges, risks and regulatory requirements within your domain, and will be able to align audit plans with the group's strategic goals, identifying emerging technical risks and offering valuable insights to senior leaders.

Conveying technical findings to non-technical stakeholders will be an important part of your role, so good communication skills are vital.

You'll be able to lead at all levels, guiding audit teams and managing complex audit projects, as well as managing upwards - building relationships and collaborating with experts and stakeholders within your specialised domain.

Join us in fostering a culture of excellence and delivering high-quality audit work that aligns with GA standards and professional best practice.

Lets bring on your best.
