Role Description

Design, build, execute and maintain the overall Category Strategy in close collaboration with your peers which include sourcing and supplier relationship management. You will develop a commercial roadmap which prioritises commercial opportunities and agree them with stakeholders together with the identification of sustainable benefits.

Ensure that the above delivers end-to-end commercial, contractual and relationship lifecycle value, in the eyes of key stakeholders and from the bottom line, specifically ensuring that:

Developing optimum routes to market based on market developments and business requirements.

Develop clear service specification documents that enable best service provision fit.

Understand cost drivers and value levers when formulating specifications, ensuring the Total Cost of Ownership is fully understood and a central part of Procurement activity.

Build, develop and maintain key relationships across LV= ensuring that your assigned category is recognised as a Centre of Excellence with up-to-date market insight.

Manage the category area continually reviewing the efficacy, efficiency and security of current supply arrangements and customer impacts ensuring that contracts remain in force, effective and up to date with market trends, price and service competitiveness and regulatory change

Ensure your leadership behaviours are first class and align to the LV= framework, support and develop your team, ensuring solid performance and continual development of the colleagues with your team.

Ensure the provision of a responsive, efficient and highly effective service for the procurement of services and goods.

Play an influential role with Executive level colleagues through shaping strategy and change plans, inputting into the development of the business Strategy.

Understand how innovation is changing your assigned category, form relationships with potential suppliers which allow you to quickly exploit developments in the market.

Ensure compliance with the Business Sourcing Process Framework. Regularly feedback suggested improvements to the BSP to drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and supply chain risk, ensuring effective Due Diligence is completed in line with the BSP with appropriate evidence effectively stored post contract signature.

Be LV=s lead negotiator in developing commercial opportunities. You will have the required skills to draft contracts and appropriate schedules using a suite of approved templates/clauses

Seek out new areas where Procurement can bring value by being involved in activity not traditionally supported by Procurement.

In conjunction with Supplier Managers, ensure full awareness of performance and quality trends within Category area, and be available to provide commercial and contractual support for any interventions required.
