We have an opportunity for Change/Project Controls Manager to join our UK Defence team supporting the delivery of a landmark programme, which is moving at pace, on behalf of a major UK client.
 
As Baseline Change Lead, you will be embedded as part of a small team, working alongside the client in a partnership role at programme level across several major projects, responsible for developing and mobilising an organisation wide change programme with optimal Portfolio, Programme & Project Management (P3M).
 
This will be a full-time role, with 2-3 days each week spent on client site (Paddington area, West London), UK National, holding or eligible for UKSV Security Check(SC).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Baseline Change Lead for programme, cost and performance cost baseline.
  • Understand client change processes, facilitating and recording change - reporting upwards
  • Applying project controls techniques and assessing/quantifying programme change, including impact of design change on programme and cost
  • Applying an organisation standard for business change across all projects and operations within the programme
  • Overseeing integration of change projects across the programme, ensuring alignment with higher corporate transformation directives
  • Optimise project and change delivery processes through review of timing, scale & method of release
  • Identifying Transformation benefits, reporting to stakeholders and implementing these across the wider programme where applicable 
  • Applying an organisation standard for business change across all projects and operations within the programme 
  • Lead the development and coaching of project teams to increase quality and efficiency of project & change delivery
  • Overseeing integration of change project teams across the programme, ensuring alignment with higher corporate transformation directives.

Who we’re looking for:
 
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
  • 5-10 years sound project, commercial management and/or programme management experience post qualification
  • Sound knowledge and practiced experience of project management techniques
  • Familiarity with interpreting programme software artefacts including schedule - Primavera advantageous
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
  • Ability to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent and/or Project Manage, particular the NEC suite of contracts
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  • Effective team work with client and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts, preferably with accreditation. 
Additionally, either of the below qualifications, are preferred. Other relevant project, programme or portfolio management qualifications will be considered:
  • MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) Practitioner 
  • MAPM (Member of the Association of Project Managers)
  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) - Quality Surveying or Project Management
