Job title: Senior Engineer - Systems Engineering

Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth or Filton

Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager on progress of tasks
  • Collaborating with the AWS Technical Authority on technical issues
  • Authoring System Requirements Specifications and Subsystem Technical Specifications
  • Working with Non-Functional Subject Matter Experts to clarify intent and acceptance methodology of Non-Functional Requirements
  • Assisting the Platform Teams to identify and resolve platform integration issues
  • Communicating with suppliers on interpretation and acceptance of requirements

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience of requirements management in Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Broad knowledge or experience of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle

Desirable:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Military or Maritime background
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The team:

This is an exciting opportunity as you will be joining a team of six engineers working across a range of projects including radar and combat systems. This role offers visibility across the whole business, and you will get the chance to see every element of every programme throughout the whole engineering lifecycle. You will be able to contribute to the identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all stages in the product lifecycle and will have the prospect to manage the results. This role will provide you with an opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels offering a great deal of exposure across the business, opening exciting developmental opportunities.
