The role

As a Senior Naval Architect, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll join a team who are responsible for ensuring the waterfront facilities and assets can meet the operational demands of a modern Navy.

Day to day, you'll be ensuring assets are fit for use, together with assessing if the facilities can meet current demands.

  • Providing technical support to the management of floating assets and associated facilities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Providing specifications to support new acquisitions and refits, undertaking inspections and overseeing maintenance, repair and modifications.
  • Maintaining records and ensuring assets are certified for use and supporting the development of technical solutions for future.
  • Onsite inspections and investigation to ensure tasks and costs are appropriately recorded in accordance with corporate procedures.

This role is full time 36 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport.

Essential experience of the Senior Naval Architect

  • Preferable experience of delivering design packages

Qualifications for the Senior Naval Architect

  • A degree qualified in Naval Architect or marine related engineering.
  • A chartered Engineer or capable of achieving Chartered status within 12 months.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
