Reporting to: Managing Surveyor

The role

Due to continued growth, the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor has become available to join our successful team out of our Whitstable office to support our clients and deliver projects and programmes in the fitout retail world.

As Senior Surveyor, you would manage the delivery and governance of commercial services across a multi-location contract. You will regularly price work, ensuring target costs are met, review contractual agreements with our contractors, handle commercial management issues, and directly engage with the end client.

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing the value and cost management of complex work packages.
  • Managing communications between the Mace team, clients and stakeholders to meet project supply and delivery targets.
  • Deliver profitability on assigned work packages and work with others to ensure the delivery of commercial targets across the project.
  • Managing risk and change in assigned work packages.
  • Working with the legal team to draft agreements and contract documents.
  • Providing commercial advice and support to the Mace and client teams.
  • Producing monthly client applications and cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Building effective working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.
  • Implementing and monitoring administrative and management systems in support of the existing project control system and process.
  • Monitoring and managing compliance with commercial agreements.
  • Presenting in regular project cost reports and risk meetings.

Skills & experience 

  • Substantial experience in a surveying role 

  • Good Understanding of JCT forms of contract & Contract law 

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel packages 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
