Job Title: Senior SHE Advisor (Internal Audit)

Salary: £43,373+ dependent on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Conduct independent audits and inspections across the Barrow Site in order to confirm compliance with legal requirements and other requirements as specified in the HS & E policies, the SHEMS and ISO standards 14001 & 45001
  • Ensure audits/inspections are planned, conducted and reported in accordance with internal procedures
  • Provide proactive and timely advice/support to enable shortfalls identified to be actioned appropriately
  • Positively engage with all stakeholders including all functional leads, regulators, contractors, and customers with bus to ensure audit and inspection interventions are effective
  • Operate to the highest standards and with integrity in the application of internal procedures and processes through the SHE management system
  • Support audits/inspections conducted by external 3rd parties e.g. HSE/ONR/LRQA
  • Support the development and embedding of an improved safety culture within the Submarines business and support the SHE improvement programme
  • Support the delivery of applicable aspects of the Safety, Health and Environment Strategy

Your skills and experiences:

Essential Qualification:

  • NEBOSH certificate
  • NEBOSH diploma or equivalent NVQ Level 6 in wither OH&S or E or a preparedness to work towards it
  • The ability to interpret and apply regulations, internal procedures and ideally ISO 14001 and 45001

Desirable:

  • Trained internal auditor or can demonstrate relevant experience of conducting internal audits/inspections
  • Experience gained in working in roles directly supporting business areas e.g. Operational SHE and/or working in a relevant business role
  • Ability to lead, develop and enable a team as a People Manager
