Job Description

Arcus FM are recruiting for a Site Manager in the North, where the successful candidate's prime responsibility will be to ensure that projects are delivered safely, to the agreed standard of quality and within the specified constraints of risk, cost and time.

The successful candidate will typically be required to cover sites in Yorkshire, the North West & North East.

  • Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on experience
  • Company van, plus fuel card

Reporting into the Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will be required to consistently deliver the company's management expectations successfully across all key areas, managing and supporting individuals and teams under your control to meet and exceed business performance targets. Developing & maintaining a good client relationship and undertaking regular reporting on the contract/s to the client and Contracts Manager is an essential part of this position, as is leading, motivating & developing site supervisors and directly employed operatives / engineers.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To take full day to day responsibility for the safe, successful and profitable execution of the nominated project ensuring compliance with contract specifications and conditions
  • To ensure works are carried out safely and to high standard, complying with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • To liaise closely with clients, sub-contractors and in-house teams, building and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Supporting the Contracts Manager and providing accurate and timely information to assist in progress and other operational reporting.
  • Managing and supervising construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Procuring (call off) materials for each phase of the project.
  • Monitoring & reporting on project progress
  • Conducting quality and safety inspections
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs, and drawings
  • Maintaining quality control checks
  • Motivating the workforce
  • Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise.
  • Proactive supply chain management
  • Deliver projects in line with the Arcus governance and control structure
  • Deliver projects in line with all relevant Arcus FM policies, quality and health and safety management systems
  • Carry out and support with the performance development review (PDR) process, completing regular 1 to 1 meetings and tool box talks enhancing the employee experience

You will have experience of working in a construction projects company/division and project site management experience, combined with strong Mechanical and Electrical / Fabric knowledge. With the ability to develop and build upon relationships with colleagues, suppliers and sub-contractors, you will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and leadership capability.

  • SMSTS
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • First Aid at Work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • PASMA / IPAF / Hot Works / Temporary Works (Desirable)
  • Good understanding of CDM Regs and the role, duties and obligations of the principal contractor and a good understanding of current HSQE legislation
  • Sound technical knowledge and good commercial awareness
