The job itself

We currently have a vacancy for a permanent full-time or part-time (job share) Site Manager for the School, working either 37 hours per week (full-time) or 22.5 hours per week (part-time job share - days to be agreed).

The successful applicant will be responsible for site security, health and safety checks, basic maintenance/decoration, management of boilers, basic grounds maintenance, assisting staff with porterage, room set-up for performances/extra-curricular clubs, opening the school for out of school activities and liaising with contract workers on site. He/she will ensure the site functions efficiently and effectively and is safe and well-maintained for the children, staff and visitors.

We are looking to recruit someone who has good basic knowledge of maintenance/DIY - experience of caretaking/site management would be desirable. The successful applicant will need to meet the physical demands of the role, have an understanding of the importance of health and safety and be willing to learn and undergo further training related to this role, should it be necessary. We are keen to recruit a new member of staff who is willing to work as part of our school team, has a flexible attitude to work, has a friendly/polite manner, is able to recommend improvements to the site and who would be able to communicate well with those people who are part of school life: the children, parents, staff, contractors and visitors to the school.

Hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday (throughout the year)

6.30 am-11 am and 2.30 pm-5.30 pm (5.00 pm on Fridays)

(NB Some overtime may be required.)

OR

22.5 hours per week over 3 days to be agreed (throughout the year)

6.30 am-11.00 am and 2.30 pm-5.30 pm

(NB Some overtime may be required.)

Salary: NJC SCP 6 (£23,893 pa pro rata)

Annual Leave: 23 days per year, plus 3 statutory days, plus bank holidays (pro rata if part-time)

Start Date: 1st August 2024
