Looking for fixed term Social Work contract? We have availability for 12 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join a well-established and supportive Adult Social Care Team based at Town Hall, Weston- super- Mare with hybrid working.  The team covers Weston, Worle areas and surrounding villages. 

We welcome applicants who are Experienced Social Workers and will start on the Level 8 grade. Our mentoring programme will enable professional growth and stimulate your professional curiosity assuring outstanding practice.

About the role

Working within key legislative frameworks including the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983, you will make defensible decisions in partnership with people with care and support needs, supporting them to take positive risks in order to promote and balance their independence, safety and wellbeing.

As a Social Worker you will be undertaking Care Act Assessments, and co-producing care and support plans with individuals, identifying their strengths and assets to determine person-centred outcomes. You will undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and be involved in Best Interest Decision making. You will hold a manageable caseload and will have shared responsibility for coordinating safeguarding enquiries in a person-centred way.

You will use your social work knowledge, skills and values to promote the rights and choices of people with care and support needs. You will work in close partnership with people with care and support needs, their families, carers and a range of multi-agency partners to achieve desired and eligible outcomes.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
