Salary: Circa £40-75K depending on experience

Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and if appropriate to the project work undertaken, where they work. Typically, for this type of role, you should plan to work 5 days per week on-site, however dependant on the work, there are likely to be agreed opportunities to work remotely.

The Role

In this role you will be:

  • Undertaking Test Equipment (TE) Software Resource and Capability UK work delivering software test capability in partnership with colleagues in Electronic Design, the Test Centre of Excellence and other areas of Software Engineering.
  • Leading robust and timely test solutions for our missile systems ensuring MBDA continues to provide a decisive military capability for our home nations and their allies.
  • Working on a diverse portfolio of work packages, TE Software Resource and Capability UK directly influences the company's product certification, manufacturing output and support activities.

Specifically, the department is responsible for developing and supporting software packages that utilise Test Equipment hardware to configure, verify and validate the conformance and quality of our MBDA UK product range from development, through production and into field test scenarios. 

We are a multi-disciplined, dynamic, focused and agile team specialising in all aspects of test solution design, including software, hardware, simulation and real-time systems.  It is great a place to learn about the company's entire product portfolio, whilst embracing the change to DevOps and other innovative technologies! 

What are we looking for?

A Technical Project leader who can build impactful teams and create strong working relations with the multi-disciplined software project environments within which we work.

This will involve:

  • An individual who can act as Software Design Authority by ensuring quality standards are met, whilst giving technical guidance and mentorship to the team.
  • Using your proven technical software experience / background lead, coach, empower and draw the best from the team.
  • Ability to work with members of the wider group to identify potential improvement opportunities and support their implementation.
  • Someone who can maintain and communicate the current project schedule etc, coordinating with the team to meet delivery milestones and identified priorities.
  • Take responsibility for the generation of workload forecasts and associated progress status, estimates and project budgets.
  • The ability to liaise directly with both internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to support the creation of project and release documentation.
