Job Description

Do you have the knowledge, skills, and values to work in a strength-based way? Do you want to help maximise the independence and well-being of the people we support?

We're looking for ambitious and innovative manager to join our North Somerset family.

About the role

The Recovery team is a multi-disciplinary health and social care team based in the Coast Resource Centre, Worle and covering the whole county of North Somerset.

Social care practioners are co-located in the team with and work alongside colleagues from the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) to deliver a range of health and social care services.

This role is to ensure the delivery of statutory social care duties in the context of an integrated model, with a clear focus on delivering strength-based approaches and providing quality supervision and the professional oversight of social care professionals.

The role involves working alongside AWP managers and participating in the wider management of the recovery team, as well as being a part of wider local authority leadership team, ensuring there are strong links with the local authority.

The post line manages a group of staff and is responsible for performance targets and budgetary oversight of social care spending.

Our Adult Services ranked number one in the south west in the LGA Social Work Health Check in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Our mental health Social Work teams ranked number one both regionally and nationally in 2022.

We are committed to flexible working and will consider all requests to help parents, guardians and carers find the right work/life balance. This post is hybrid and will be a mix of both office and home-based work.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

About you

You will hold a relevant professional qualification (for example, social worker, occupational therapist, nursing) and may be a qualified Approved Mental Health Practitioner or Best Interest Assessor, or willing to undertake training.

You will be a current manager, or an experienced practitioner seeking their next career move with a range of knowledge of mental health and experience of delivering social care services.
