Salary & Benefits:  Salary range - £24,665 - £30,632 per annum dependant on experience, company van, annual bonus, attractive pension scheme (Up to 10% company contribution), life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary and 25 days annual leave, bank holidays plus additional days in lieu of working bank holidays for operational roles, plus a wellness day and development opportunities in line with the Water Quality Sampling Officer progression plan. We have an exciting opportunity for a Water Quality Sampling Officer to join the Water Quality Team at Yorkshire Water. 

 

Location: East Coast of Yorkshire and surrounding areas - Whitby, Scarborough, Pickering

 

This is  a permanent role,  working full time, 37 hours per week between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm Monday - Friday. There will be out of hours working, included as part of the role, on a 1 week in 7 basis. This is covered by an operational standby rota, which attracts additional pay.

Where you fit in:
 

As our Water Quality Sampling Officer you will-


    Travel around the region as a lone worker, following strict procedures to collect water samples to fulfil the regulatory sampling programme.
    Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving customer issues on site, or reporting them appropriately, as well as identifying any issues on fixed assets that relate to sampling.
    Work flexibly and manage your own workload to maximise efficiency and accurately record sampling data.
    Participate in an operational standby rota that involves out of hours working once fully trained.
 
 

What skills & qualifications you will need:
 

    A full valid UK driving licence with less than 6 points on the licence.
    Personal health and safety awareness is essential, along with your awareness of the health and safety of colleagues.
    Excellent  communication, interpersonal and customer service skills as you will be representing Yorkshire Water when meeting customers.
    Effective organisational skills.
    Flexible and adaptable approach to work as daily workload often subject to change.
    Attention to detail and adherence to working to strict procedures.


 

You will also benefit from having:

 

    Basic I.T. skills and the confidence to use these on a daily basis.
    Experience of working outdoors in all weathers that includes working at heights or in enclosed spaces.
    Experience of visiting customers on a cold call basis.
