Salary & Benefits: £37,714 - £47,141 per annum dependant on experience, annual bonus, attractive pension scheme (Up to 10% company contribution), life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary and 25 days annual leave, bank holidays, plus a wellness day and development opportunities in line with the WRAP & Energy Optimiser progression plan. Location: Bradford, Buttershaw / Hybrid Working (Majority home working with occasional operational site visits across Yorkshire)

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. 

 

We currently have a vacancy for a WRAP (Water Resources Allocation Plan) & Energy Optimiser to join the Clean Water Technical Team in the Water Service Delivery Business Unit.

Working as part of a wider team within the Water Production department and in conjunction with colleagues in the field, the Energy & WRAP Optimiser will act as a key link between Clean Water Operations and other internal departments such as Engineering Reliability and Water Quality, to ensure our business plan for WRAP, Chemicals and Energy are delivered. The Energy & WRAP Optimiser will be responsible for technical analysis and technical support relating to WRAP and Energy across the suite of Yorkshire Water's Clean Water asset base. 


What will the role involve?

 

  • Provide an expert advisory service in respect of both technical and regulatory aspects to ensure the company meets and exceeds its targets and critical business performance measures, particularly around the Water Resource Allocation Plan, Chemical consumption & Energy consumption/generation.
  • Deliver world class asset and operational excellence across all assets in pursuit of health and safety excellence; regulatory compliance; zero customer impact; operational efficiency and business plan out performance. 
  • Work as part of the team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how their individual performance links into achieving the team's wider objectives.
  • Drive field performance to ensure the control room alarm volumes are manageable and to enable increased alarm analysis and remote reach-out activity by the 24/7 teams. 
  • To work closely with Supply System Engineers, Technical Manager and other business representatives to ensure that system configurations are optimised, and data records are effectively maintained and where appropriate amended in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that all optimisation activity on the water asset base is completed in accordance with all YW Health and Safety policies
  • You will also provide support during times of escalation to the wider Service Delivery Centre Control Room. You will also play a key role in identifying any business improvements. 

 


What skills are we looking for?

  • You will possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to fault find processes and systems whilst handing large amounts of diverse data, enabling identification of potential risks to compliance and/or deviation from business plan targets. Can offer suggestions or solutions for improved ways of working, implementing where appropriate.
  • You will also have the ability to build relationships and influence through effective interpersonal and communication skills, at all levels within Yorkshire Water, service partner organisations and work with other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves our vision to be clearly the best against demanding competitive industry benchmarks.
  • You will need to be IT literate and will be expected to rapidly become proficient in the use of the Business's primary software packages.
  • A full valid EU driving licence is required for the role
