Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

At ACT, we endeavour to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. We recognise the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business and to our country.

We have committed to establishing an internal Armed Forces Network within the organisation, to enable staff members with an Armed Forces connection to meet and support one another and provide feedback to us as an organisation.  We will appoint an Armed Forces Champion to act as a focal point for organising and promoting support for the Armed Forces Community.  We also understand the need for flexibility for Service Spouses and Partners and it is within our policy to grant unpaid leave before, during and after a partner’s deployment to support with this.

About us

At ACT we specialise in preventative, community based services, giving people the stability, support and challenge which is often required in order to enable them to realise their full potential. We deliver a range of projects promoting the well being of children, young people, adults and families.

With our headquarters in Ipswich, we deliver services across Suffolk and into Norfolk and Essex.  We are an Investors in People organisation and hold an Investors in Diversity for Small Charities Award.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and young people and are an equal opportunities employer which values diversity and expect all our staff and volunteers to share these commitments.

At ACT, we exist to encourage people to achieve their full potential whatever their circumstances.  This applies as equally to our staff and volunteers, as it does to our Service Users. We want to recruit staff and volunteers who share our values and have the shared passion to support and empower vulnerable people.
