Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
Ashfield District Council signed the Armed Forces Covenant and became an Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award recipient.
We are an Equal Opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the Community, including those who are in or have left the armed forces, or are a partner / spouse / close one of someone in the forces.
The Council grants paid leave of absence for employees who are either serving members of RF or Cadets Forces to attend training. RF Employees who are mobilised are entitled to remain a member of the pension scheme, and will continue to accrue continuous service, regardless of the duration of the mobilisation.
