Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
As part of our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant we currently have a Veterans project and as a result of this project we attend 3 Armed Forces Covenant meetings within the counties of Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham. We are a project for Veterans within Care & Repair North East Wales which is a Limited Charitable Community Benefit Society registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (29904R). Registration VAT no. 280 700914. We work with veterans and their families and currently serving personnel. The service is tailored made to each individual. As part of the covenant we work alongside other veterans’ charities towards our goals and also work with non-veterans’ charities when they have a veterans element to a particular project.
About us
The aim of the project is to provide Individual support, family support, Training and employment opportunities and Volunteering and connecting with their local communities We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of all users of the service. We provide a safe Hub for veterans and families to attend. This is a safe place that they can come to and have a chat and a coffee and connect with other people. There are multiple volunteering opportunities on the 35 acre site. The key workers can assist with any issues they may have for example, Housing, Social, personal, employment and training issues. We are able to sign-post to more appropriate or specialised agencies if required. We are able to provide some training for individuals although we are not a main provider but have the ability to book people onto training that they want/need. Examples of training we have sponsored are: chainsaw training, forklift training, ADR training. We are currently setting up a VC Shed where people will be able to take the training further and manufacture items.
