Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Aim is that every Service Leaver, Reservist, Veteran, and spouses / partners shall have access to training, mentoring and meaningful new careers whilst service charities are also supported.

•            CareerForces reaches c 200,000 veterans and over 1,000 business leaders every month and advocates the recruitment of veterans and reservists. CareerForces publish regular bulletins (at least eight times/week) via acebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. We currently have c 3600 followers on LinkedIn.

•            Local media – CareerForces have appeared in Newbury Press and on Radio Berkshire reaching c 50,000 people in West Berkshire to promote various charitable initiatives. This included March in March for Combat Stress raising over £1000 and promoting daily walks, securing sponsorship and organising a community walk at Greenham common). This will raise awareness of the Armed Forces within the West Berkshire community.

•            In 2022 CareerForces worked with Building People to develop their website and promote employment opportunities for veterans and reservists in collaboration with BuildForce and Building Heroes.

•            In 2023 CareerForces has started to support Newbury Sea cadets.  This will be primarily by raising awareness within the local area and offering free careers and recruitment support.

•            CareerForces have also partnered with the Forces Transition Group and delivered a Webinar (jobs fair) in January 23 with over 200 service leavers attending and seven companies in attendance. More are planned  throughout 2023.

•            CareerForces have developed a specific HR and/or recruitment policies for Veterans, Service Leavers, Reservists and their families with the intent that all our clients (employers) will be supportive where possible. We currently work with around fifteen employers.

•            Any future Reservist and Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers employed by CareerForces would be entitled to 10 days paid leave.

•            CareerForces offers a free mentor/adviser service (ex-forces employee) to aid veterans and service leavers transition into the civilian workforce. Since Nov 2019 approximately 900 service personnel have been given support with CV writing, interview techniques, training advice and securing new jobs.

•            CareerForces organise Armed Forces friendly events. This has included a March in March for Combat Stress and a golf day for eight injured veterans from the On Course Foundation. This will be repeated in 2023 with further support to Combat Stress and a golf day for twelve injured veterans

•            CareerForces supports and promotes Armed Forces Day and Reserves Day through social media.

•            CareerForces advertise new jobs every month on the CTP website and attend CTP Careers Fairs.

About us

The Founder of CareerForces spent 32 years in the British Army and a further 15 years in the MOD as a civil servant. He now dedicates his life to supporting fellow Service personnel, veterans, reservists and their families in their career aspirations. This is being delivered through the social enterprise CareerForces.

Provided an Armed Forces network. This will be achieved by developing partnerships and collaboration. For example, we are already partnering with Building Heroes, the Forces Transition Group, Career Transition Partnership and Building people to promote military personnel.

As CareerForces grows so our need for staff will increase. We intend to wherever possible offer up opportunities for Forces family members.
