Cheshire West and Chester Council

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Cheshire West and Chester Council are a Forces Friendly employer, and an Armed Forces Covenant committed organisation. The Covenant is an agreement between the armed forces community and the nation. The covenant’s twin underlying principles are that members of the Armed Forces Community should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services; and that special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given the most such as the injured or the bereaved.

We are extremely proud in retaining the prestigious Gold Award from the MOD Employer Recognition Scheme, which recognises our outstanding support for the Armed Forces. We welcome applications from all members of the Armed Forces community, and our council’s commitment is further underpinned by our guaranteed interview scheme which seeks to help ex-servicemen and women in their employment journey transitioning from the forces into civilian life.
