Colchester City Council is committed to working with and supporting our Armed Forces community.

Colchester has had a garrison for many years, and we are proud of the links and traditions that come with that – they help make our city a special place to work and live.

We can provide advice and support on benefits, housing, employment, education, and wellbeing. We provide a useful directory with links to organisations and charities who can also help support our Armed Forces community.

Additionally, the Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to those who serve or who have served, and their families, which says we will do all we can to ensure they are treated fairly and are not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives.

Our continued commitment to the armed services is reflected in the council's Gold Standard award for the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.
