Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
Common Thread is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value service personal, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to the workplace.
Common Thread will always strive to offer opportunities of employment to service personal, Reservists, Veterans and their families. We believe their resilience, discipline and tenacity are invaluable to the vulnerable children we look after. Common Thread will always consider offering interviews to spouses/partners if they meet the skill requirements laid out within the job advert.
Fundamentally we believe a workplace can only be fully diverse once it includes our armed forces and their families. We will proudly promote that we are an armed forces friendly organisation to make sure that continues.
About us
Common Thread is a company committed to excellence and seriously improving opportunities for children in the care system. We are resolute in challenging unacceptable practice and perceptions.
Our Mission is to lead in the creation and provision of innovative healing environments for children and young people who have been hurt by trauma, abuse and neglect.
Common Thread was founded by Julie Joseph in 2004 with the belief that young people who have been disadvantaged through their life experiences deserve a place to put down roots. This allows them the space to grow, learn, develop and make positive memories. Young people are our primary focus, and this belief is shared by every one of our staff members, carers and support workers. It is our Common Thread.
