Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
The Corps of Commissionaires (Corps Security) was founded to create employment opportunities for those who had loyally served their country, mainly injured ex-servicemen returning from the Crimean War. An original signatory to the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant, and ERS Gold Award holder, Corps continues to adhere to its founding principles, namely, the on-going recruitment and deployment of ex-military personnel providing gainful and rewarding employment for those who have served.
Striving to be the employer of choice for veterans, we aim to maintain excellent relationships with ex-service personnel placement units and agencies which seek placements and employment, approaching them to fill vacancies and working with them to offer mentoring and support for forces leavers.
We employ reservists within our ranks and organise our business around their needs to support them, and their families, during periods of training and deployment, always ensuring that our reservist colleagues never suffer financially for their continued dedication and commitment. We also offer support to cadet units, particularly in those communities local to our branches wherever possible.
About us
The Corps of Commissionaires Management Limited, now Corps Security, is an organisation initially created to provide employment for ex-servicemen returning from the Crimean War. Corps Security has been providing dedicated security services for over 160 years, becoming the UK’s most established and respected security services provider.
In 1901 His Majesty King Edward VII consented to head the Corps of Commissionaires’ board of governors. Maintaining this tradition, the reigning sovereign has continued this royal patronage in the office of Chief Life Governor, with HM Queen Elizabeth II the head of the company today.
Corps Security is a Living Wage Recognised Service Provider and its CEO, Mike Bullock, is a member of the Living Wage Foundation’s Recognised Service Provider Leadership Group.
Corps Security was founded on the principle of helping others and continues to do so today. It supports military charities including Combat Stress, its nominated charity since 2015.
Services include: manned guarding, electronic solutions, state-of-the-art monitoring, security reviews and consultancy, all tailored to ensure the safety of people, property and assets.
