Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
We are committed to actively supporting the Armed Forces and are extremely proud to have recently been awarded the Defence Employer Engagement Silver Award. During any recruiting, we actively encourage applications from those with links to the Armed Forces; this could include, but is not limited to, Veterans, Reservists, and spouses of serving military personnel.
As a school, we actively support both Remembrance Day and Armed Forces Week each year. For the former, we hold a whole school assembly that includes the traditional two minute silence and focuses on reflecting on the sacrifices made by our Veterans. We also sell poppies and other Remembrance Day merchandise. We hold an additional assembly each year in June to celebrate Reserves Day as part of our commitment to Armed Forces Week. In addition to the above, we have held staff meetings exploring the role of the Reserves within the wider Armed Forces community and our staff understand and appreciate the School’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.
We are keen to further develop our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and are constantly seeking ways in which to achieve this.
About us
We are a two-form primary school of c476 children situated in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. We pride ourselves on being a fun, vibrant, and inclusive school where children and staff are equally passionate about learning.
At Cranborne, we nurture the talents of individuals and celebrate their efforts and achievements.
Children are happy here. They feel safe, secure and able to express themselves. There is an exciting and energetic atmosphere at our school - it is a place full of positivity and opportunity. Staff thrive on the challenge of creating the highest standards of learning and children engage willingly, eager to learn more.
We understand the importance of excellent home/school partnerships and for this very reason, encourage strong parental input into their child's education. We operate an open door policy and are open to new ideas and suggestions.
Our school ethos and drivers are celebrated by all those employed by the school and we are always excited about the possibility of employing new staff to help us carry this vision forwards.
