Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
We’re an active supporter of the Armed Forces Covenant and are currently Silver in the Employer Recognition Scheme, working towards Gold. Specific to forces families:
About us
We take a practical approach, rolling our sleeves up and getting things done, individually and with partners, formally and informally (locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, including the Chamber network).
As a social enterprise profits are retained to support our business aims, supporting the growth, sustainability and success of Cumbrian businesses.
We work with businesses of every size and lifecycle stage in all sectors, ranging from people considering self-employment to the largest and most established employers (members and non-members).
Our activities include business support & training, networking & events, member services and policy & representation. Business support is through www.cumbriagrowthhub.co.uk. We promote products made, or largely made, locally through www.madeincumbria.co.uk. We’re the lead organisation for Cumbria’s Local Skills Improvement Plan, putting employers at the heart of skills provision.
We’re an accountable body and employ the team for Cumbria’s Land & Nature Skills Service.
We’re a Disability Confident Leader, support the Homelessness Covenant and work closely with our local prison. Our approach to safeguarding goes beyond safety to enabling people to flourish.
