Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) is a charity committed to supporting the Armed Forces community. We appreciate the diverse range of skills and experience Armed forces leavers, veterans and spouses can bring to our organisation including leadership, effective communication, integrity, adaptability, problem solving and team work.
We are proud to hold a Silver Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and are currently working towards the Gold Award. This award is presented to employers who wish to pledge their intention to support Defence and take a positive stance towards employing personnel and partners who are, or were members of the Armed Forces community.
We currently employ military personnel, ex-military and reservists and we encourage and welcome job applications from all of these groups.
About us
Devon’s two Air Ambulances and two rapid response Critical Care Cars are funded by Devon Air Ambulance Trust which is a registered charity. When every second counts, getting the specialist skills of the Devon Air Ambulance Critical Care Doctors and Paramedics to the scene is paramount.
Times have certainly changed from the idea that the air ambulance simply collects a patient and delivers them quickly to hospital. Today, this service is about bringing highly-skilled clinicians and advanced lifesaving treatment and interventions to the scene of the incident. Devon Air Ambulance specialist medical teams work to stabilise their patient before transporting them to the hospital that offers the specialist treatment needed to provide the patient with the best possible outcome.
Independent of Government funding, Devon Air Ambulance relies on the generosity of the people of Devon and beyond, who kindly give their time, money and expertise to help support and maintain this life-saving service. Read more at daat.org. Registered Charity No: 1077998.
