East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We are committed to upholding the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which are:

  • no member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and  commercial services compared to any other citizen
  • in some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate especially for the injured or bereaved.

We are committed to supporting the local Armed Forces Community both internally and externally. We have an Armed Forces and Veterans Staff Network to help support our staff as well as a number of policies focused on our Armed Forces Community. We are dedicated to improving the experience and health outcomes of veterans as patients. ESNEFT wishes to show its commitment to their care through ambitious, dedicated Armed Forces Advocacy, ensuring that veterans, particularly those at the end of life or with Service-related conditions, can access the system-wide, co-ordinated healthcare they deserve.

About us

At East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) we provide hospital and community health care services for Colchester, Ipswich and local areas. Formed on 1 July 2018, ESNEFT is the largest NHS organisation in the region. We provide services from Colchester and Ipswich hospitals, Aldeburgh, Clacton, Halstead, Harwich and Felixstowe community hospitals and Bluebird Lodge near Ipswich. We also provide community services in Suffolk.

Our mission is to continue to meet the principles of the NHS identified in 1948, that good healthcare should be available to all, regardless of ability to pay.

Our vision is to provide the communities we serve with excellent healthcare and build a better future for east Suffolk and north Essex.

Our aims are to see patients at the right time, attract and retain the best staff, and provide the latest services locally.

Our philosophy is that time matters – we will remove or improve the things we do that cause unnecessary stress or frustration for our patients, their families and carers and our staff.
