Going Forward into Employment

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Going Forward into Employment (GFiE) life chance recruitment scheme uses a streamlined approach to recruit people from a wide range of backgrounds into the Civil Service.

We provide opportunities for people who face possible barriers to gaining employment within the Civil Service including Service Leavers/Veterans and Military Spouses, providing them with experience that can improve their life chances and help make the Civil Service more representative of the country it serves.

We will retain our commitment to working flexibly to overcome barriers. We want to develop our approach to make it easy for Civil Service departments to recruit life chance candidates, so that more opportunities are provided for people who may experience barriers to employment.

This is an amazing opportunity to express your interest in any of the Civil Service vacancies that we offer!

About us

The Civil Service operates nationally, and we are given vacancies to advertise within the Veteran, Service Leaver and Military Spouse/Partner community.

All that is needed to apply for any vacancy is:

  • A completed expression of interest form
  • An up to date CV

Applying for any vacancy will generate an email that we will reply to, and then forward the expression of interest form directly to you.

We also keep a 'Candidate Bank' whereby candidates can express an interest even if there are no current 'live' vacancies of interest or in the desired location. Return us the expression of interest form alongside your CV and we will make contact if something becomes available in your location.  Please email us at GFIE@cabinetoffice.gov.uk for further information and to request a form.

To be eligible for this scheme you must meet the following criteria:
