Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

• We support the Armed Forces Covenant in a number of ways:
  1.  Ex-Forces personnel on staff.
  2.  Support of forces charities through events or fundraising.
  3.  Support of cadet organisations through young people's employment and part time work.
  4.  We currently have no forces personnel regular or reserve working with us, however we would support them to ensure that they were able to maintain their commitment to any service career.
  5.  We are committed to the statements below, in regards service personnel, their families and employment:
   
  Half Fish is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our organisation. 
  • We will always consider offering an interview to spouses/partners if they meet the selection criteria laid out in a
  job advert.
  • We encourage staff to apply for other suitable positions within Half Fish on relocation when appropriate.
  • We will support spouses and partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working
  opportunities.
  • We will support training and development which helps staff not only in their Half Fish role, but will also be of benefit in future employment.• We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during or after a partner’s deployment according to Half Fish policy.
• We will grant special paid leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured.

About us

We are a community based swimming pool and have opportunities for swimming teachers and lifeguards.  We provide the training and then also the experience which enables you to stay and work with us or provides you with the training you need for employment in the leisure industry.
We are industry experts and award winners in the field of aquatics and can give you the best start in a career on poolside.  As most courses are short in length we can tailor these around other commitments which anyone may be thinking of when considering a new career or role.
