Healthier Heroes CIC

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Healthier Heroes CIC supports Veterans and service leavers by offering mentoring from ex-forces volunteers and liaising with the Armed Forces Team who can offer support with employment mentoring, CV building, work experience, benefits checks to ensure they will be better off working than on benefits. We work with may statutory and third sector organisation across Lancashire and a Network of Armed Forces Champions in various departments throughout council's and the NHS trust, as well as the North west Ambulance service who are Veterans Reservists spouses or partners. We offer support and guidance to all the armed forces community and ensure that all our services and support is available to them too.

Healthier Heroes CIC employ four veterans and we also support their families. We ensure that we evidence that as a company, and that we value the high skills and work ethic they bring to the organisation.

We actively work with local businesses, liaising with those who have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and pledged to employ AF veterans in roles they have vacant, so long as their skills match the vacancy advertised.

About us

Healthier Heroes CIC provides support to ex-service personnel, their families and carers who are struggling with an array of complex requirements and support, and members of the NHS and other blue light services. The support offered to our service users includes housing, education, employment, tackling isolation and health and wellbeing. Partnering with statutory and other third sector organisations we ensure our service users receive the support they need using a collaboration approach. From consultation through to delivery our service users drive us. We pride ourselves on co-designing all our delivery programmes in joint consultation with our beneficiaries.

We are running a programme UNITE INSPIRE BELIEVE which tackles the complex needs of those in need. We opened our state of the art HQ Bancroft house in Burnley on the 5 December this year, as we are now able to support the armed forces community across Lancashire. We are excited to be able to house Homeless and venerable Veterans to include those who leave the criminal Justice system.
