Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Herbert Smith Freehills was one of the first law firms to sign the UK Corporate Covenant, recognising the contribution of the Veterans and Reservists at the firm and the challenges faced by the many staff who have family members who serve.   

• We offer ten days additional paid leave to Reservist employees and support them during times of mobilisation.
• We have several members of staff who are veterans and others who are active Reservists. Our Armed Forces Network runs events, attends recruitment fairs, offers support to military spouses and encourages staff to consider joining the Reserves.
• We are committed to actively encouraging talented individuals transitioning out of the military to consider a career with HSF and within the large and successful UK legal industry.
• The network enjoys strong support from our Executive Committee and Board, in recognition of the cognitive diversity that Veterans and Reservists bring to the firm.
