Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We recognise the contribution that Service personnel, reservists, veterans, the cadet movement and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:

• Promoting the Armed Forces: promoting the fact that we are an Armed Forces-friendly organisation to our staff, customers, suppliers, contractors and the wider public.
• Employment support to members of the Armed Forces Community: supporting reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers by offering them additional days of annual leave in order to carry out their duties; offering guaranteed interviews to reservists, veterans and dependants of Service personnel; promoting employment opportunities through engagement with the Career Transition Partnership and Forces Families Jobs.
• Communications, engagement and outreach: promoting the Armed Forces Covenant and using the Covenant logo in our communications and marketing; supporting Poppy Appeal Day and Remembrance activities.

We will publicise these commitments through our literature and/or on our website, setting out how we will seek to honour them and inviting feedback from the Armed Forces Community and our customers on how we are doing.

About us

Hitherbest is a family-owned sheet metal fabrication business, that has been trading for over 35 years. The company is BSI certified to the quality management standard ISO 9001:2015 and has an outstanding reputation for customer service.

Hitherbest has around 40 members of staff, working across two shifts, at its 17,000 ft² premises in Telford, Shropshire. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, staff benefit from free parking, free workwear, free hot drinks and healthy snacks (fruit and yogurt). The company is also a generous sponsor of a number of sports teams that are coached by or participated in by staff. The average length of service is currently just under 9.5 years.

Last year, Hitherbest produced sheet metal fabrications for around 50 companies, ranging in size from sole traders to multinational organisations. Hitherbest has extensive experience in producing fabrications for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) sector, but works with  businesses operating in a range of markets including switchgear and electrical distribution, construction, robotics and automation, and agricultural.
