HorseBack UK

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We value the skills that forces families and dependants bring to the workplace.  We look to employ personnel from the Defence Family as and when our business module expands, and HorseBack has in place a Reserve Forces Training & Mobilisation Policy which covers an extra 10 day’s paid leave over and above the 25 days annual leave as standard. HorseBack is also very supportive of mobilisation and support to normal weekend type training which is also. We support Spouses and partners of the Armed Forces family in flexibility working during mobilisation, deployments, and demoralisation. HorseBack recognises that flexible working can help increase employee engagement, job satisfaction and wellbeing across our organisation.

About us

HorseBack UK (HBUK) is a multi-award-winning charity that was set up in 2009 in the Scottish Highlands, to empower serving and former military personnel suffering from both physical and mental injuries. Using horsemanship, team building tasks and outdoor activities, the charity delivers personal development programmes that encourage our participants to acquire new coping strategies, life skills and build lasting resilience and relationships as well as interpersonal skills. Our charity is supported by the Queen who is the Royal Patron of HBUK.

We at HorseBack UK inspire positive change, confidence, self-esteem, and promote recovery in an individual.  Using horsemanship and outdoor activities, we deliver nationally accredited personal development programmes which offer our participants new coping strategies, life skills and the tools to build resilience.  The majority of staff are veterans (both Regular & Reserve) or dependants of veterans and our mentoring team are all veterans who have been through our courses.
