Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

  • Support the employment of Veterans and service leavers by offering an internal mentor/adviser (ex-forces employee), to aid their transition into the civilian workforce.
  • Registered with Career Transition Partnership. Actively work with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to employ service leavers and attend careers fairs.
  • Established an Armed Forces Network, supporting employees who are Reservists, Veterans and spouses/partners.
  • Employs a significant number of Veterans and place high value on the skills and work ethic they bring to the business.
  • Police Constable applicants can meet the academic eligibility criteria by having served in the armed forces and successfully completed the minimum term of service (exceptional cases of shorter periods may be considered) and have achieved an exemplary reference on discharge.
  • A Buddy Scheme to meet the needs of our military candidates. Partner candidates during the recruitment process with existing staff who have successfully joined Kent Police with military experience.
  • Support to military families and spousal recruitment by offering employment to dependants of military employees.
