Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

In support of Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s (LYPFT) commitment to actively and proactively, demonstrating practical and practicable support of the Armed Forces Covenant by continually developing, delivering and implementing Armed Forces friendly and positive policies, processes and procedures in support of the veterans and ex-Forces and their families and Armed Forces Reservists, both patients and staff, existing or potential, within our community.

To enhance the patient experience, across all trust services, of veterans and ex-Forces, and their families, that we serve within our community, to ensure that none are disadvantaged as a result of military service by continually reviewing and adopting veterans and ex-Forces friendly patient pathways and developing and implementing veterans and ex-Forces aware patient policies, processes and procedures.

To establish a network of informed and empowered inter-departmental/service Deputy Armed Forces Champions to drive and champion delivery and implementation of LYPFT’s Armed Forces Covenant initiatives and activities at organisational and unit level.

We are delighted to announce that Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has been granted the 2023 ERS Gold Award. This is a further achievement from the Silver award we won in 2022. LYPFT has also been named as a finalist for 'Employer of the Year' award in the English Veteran Awards 2023. The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives. As a forces-friendly employer our support makes a real difference to a group of people who play a crucial role in UK defence as well as those who are helping to nurture and aspire the next generation through their involvement with the cadet movement.
