Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our Trust and community and we seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. Queen Elizabeth Hospital site is a stone throw from the Woolwich Barracks and previously a military hospital, LGT is proudly committed to its long and on-going historical military connections by agreeing to and upholding this covenant. We actively support members of the reserve forces, by offering two weeks additional of paid leave. We are keen to be a local employer of choice to spouses of serving personnel or their wider family. We are actively looking for veteran service personnel to work in our organisation recognising the exceptional skill set they offer and additionally we offer a wide range of flexible working to suit a variety of roles.

About us

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is a community focused provider of local and acute care, providing high quality services to over one million people living across the London boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley. We provide services at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, University Hospital Lewisham and a range of community settings in Lewisham. We also provide some services at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. Our hospitals provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, as well as emergency and planned care. Over the last year, our emergency performance has been among the strongest in London, despite our emergency departments being among the busiest in the capital.

Our philosophy is to provide an environment which promotes a caring and supportive culture to staff. Developmental opportunities are actively encouraged and you will be supported. We are a disability confident employer.
