Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue is committed to supporting the Armed Forces Community and recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our organisation. Both as an employer and provider of services, we will work to ensure that our Armed Forces Community are treated with fairness and respect. We support the Armed Forces Covenant in the following ways:

  • We will always consider offering an interview to spouses/partners if they meet the selection criteria laid out in the job advert.
  • We will encourage staff to apply for other suitable positions within LFR or LCC on relocation when appropriate
  • We will support spouses/partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working opportunities
  • We will support training and development opportunities which helps staff not only in their LFR role, but will also benefit future employment
  • We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during and after a partner’s deployment
  • We will grant special leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured.

About us

On the east coast of England, Lincolnshire stretches from the Humber to the Wash. It covers an area of 2,687 square miles and has seven diverse districts.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is responsible for delivering fire and rescue services to more than 800,000 people. As well as fires, we deal with a range of incidents such as road traffic collisions, floods and chemical spills. In addition to operational response, we undertake community fire safety work such as home safety advice and specialist interventions with young people who start fires. Our specialist fire safety staff undertake inspections of business premises to ensure they comply with fire safety law.

There is a mix of thriving urban city, bustling historic market towns and idyllic villages.  There is also miles of unspoiled coastline and many areas of natural beauty.

The county has a low crime rate, affordable housing and good education facilities. It is a great place to live and work.
