Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant:
Mersey Maritime has been a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant since 2018. As an organisation which represents the maritime industry in the Liverpool City Region and wider North West, we have close ties with the Armed Forces Community through our links with, amongst others, the Royal Navy. We recognise the contribution that Service personnel, both regular and reservist, and indeed their families, can make to our organisation, as they do to the wider community and the country.
Although a small organisation in itself, Mersey Maritime has adopted ‘forces friendly’ policies that ensure when job opportunities arise, we are open to the employment of those either directly in the Armed Forces Community or through their family members. Our policies recognise the need to be flexible, accommodating and supportive as possible in meeting the often unique needs of such individuals.
We promote the work of the Armed Forces Covenant and its value to our wide membership base and encourage them to actively engage with the important focus it represents.
About us:
Mersey Maritime is an award-winning regional cluster organisation for the maritime industry in the Liverpool City Region and the greater North West. Our mission is to be a catalyst for growth, influencing policy and driving change for the good of the sector.
Mersey Maritime was established 20 years ago as a membership organisation to create an ecosystem to champion and support one of the most diverse maritime regions in the UK. It is a not-for-profit organisation with around 150 members which span all constituent parts of the maritime industry and its related supply chain, including ports, shipping, offshore, engineering, professional services, logistics, manufacturing and academia.
Mersey Maritime membership is open to all maritime and supply chain businesses, associated public sector partners, trade associations and charitable organisations. Members can be based anywhere in the UK or overseas, provided they have a commitment to the maritime sector, particularly in the North West.
