Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Our Armed Forces Covenant highlights the support to the wider Armed Forces Family.  We have an active Armed Forces Network, which meets on a regular basis and supports key events such as Armed Forces Week.  MSEFT has an Executive Officer Armed Forces Lead and an Armed Forces Champion. 

The following are extracts from our AFC:

• Promoting the fact that we are an armed forces friendly organisation
• Publicise the Armed Forces Covenant commitments and logo on the Trust’s website, our vacancy publications and through our social media
• Striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners, through the advertising of our vacancies
• Endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment
• Sympathetically review requests for holidays before, during or after a partner’s overseas deployment, when the person has “Post Operational Tour Leave” to spend with their family
• Consider special leave when appropriate for employees who are bereaved or whose spouse/partner is injured both physically and/or mentally.

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest in the country, with a workforce of approximately 15,000 who serve a population of 1.2 million people. We are an acute Hospital trust with three main sites: Basildon Hospital, Southend Hospital and Broomfield Hospital.

We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
