Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Greater London

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for Greater London (GL RFCA) is the focal point of activity and administration for Reserves and Cadets of all three Services in London.  One of our pillars is Employer Engagement and we are mandated advocates for the Armed Forces Covenant.  Although we are not part of the military chain of command, we are not entitled to sign up to the Armed Forces Covenant.  We do, however, embody all its values in our HR policies.

About us

The GL RFCA works to establish and maintain strong relationships with employers to ensure they can realise the benefits of access to service leavers, veterans and reservists, a skilled and highly motivated pool of employees.

We offer advice and support and enable organisations to develop a mutually beneficial working relationship with the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Our role encompasses amongst other things:

  • Engaging with London businesses to inform them of the Armed Forces Covenant.
  • Recruiting support for the Reserves of all Services.
  • Civic and Community Engagement – building awareness and positive attitudes towards the Armed Forces as a whole.

Additionally, we are responsible for:

  • The upkeep of over 190 properties.
  • Administration of the Army Cadet Force (ACF) and the provision of facilities management for the Sea Cadet Corps and Air Training Corps.
  • Civic and Community Engagement.
  • Working with the police, local authorities, educational establishments and the Army Cadet Force, to help crime-vulnerable young people.

Being the focal point for YOU London – the partnership of ten uniformed youth organisations in London.
