Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
University Hospital Southampton are proud to be a Veteran Aware accredited NHS trust and signed the Armed Forces covenant in 2021. We are currently preparing to work towards Silver ERS membership, with the ultimate aim of obtaining Gold status. We pledged in 2021 to welcome applications from family members that meet the essential criteria for any post and to actively advertise vacancies and hold/attend events focused on the recruitment of Armed Forces community members and their wider families. We recognise the skills that you, as a member of an Armed Forces family bring to our team, and will ensure that you are able to achieve personal goals whilst always understanding your wider family commitments.
About us
As a team we are constantly striving to ensure that the trust is flexible and proactive in its approach to supporting families of Armed Forces personnel. Flexible working and supportive management helps us to ensure that deployment and family commitments are workable for you as a family. We are always improving how we work as a hospital and recognise the importance of wellbeing and inclusion amongst our staff. We have a rapidly growing Armed Forces community that is not only for support and connections to other families, but actively contributes towards trust wide improvements for both patients and staff who are veteran’s and/or family of armed forces personnel. We are committed to driving change, ensuring recognition and supporting you as a community whilst understanding the depth of skills and experience that you can bring to our hospital.
