In conjunction with our pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant, Veterans in Sefton support serving and none serving members of the Armed Force, dependants and families by providing opportunities to participate in activities which support their social inclusion; providing counselling advice, employment pathways and mentoring support; promoting and protecting their health, mental health and well-being; and by promoting cooperation between servicemen, veterans and their families.
Veterans in Sefton will relieve the need of persons living in Sefton, Merseyside and surrounding areas, who are currently serving or who have served in the armed forces, regular and reservists, their families and dependents, by advancing any lawful charitable purpose at the discretion of the trustees and in particular but not exclusively by:-
About us
The Veterans in Sefton CIO (VIS) reside in Sefton Merseyside. Veterans in Sefton are currently funded by Lottery and Armed Forces Covenant. Veterans in Sefton are endorsed and fully supported by the South Sefton, Southport and Formby Clinical Commissioning Groups (SS&FCCG), Sefton Council for Voluntary Services (SCVS) and Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) Veterans in Sefton’s CEO, Holistic Care Coordinator and Mentors are all ex service personnel and have a high understanding of Armed Forces culture and the difficulties that are presented in the transition from military to civilian life. ViS have developed a unique Holistic Support Programme (HSP) Lead by a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Councillor of over 30 years’ experience. The HSP will provide the emotional scaffolding to raise self-esteem, build confidence and improve mental well-being by way of early intervention, this reduce the potential for developing or compounding pre-existing mental health issues. Veterans in Sefton provide a comprehensive information, advice and guidance service covering: housing, employment, dependency, financial and general well-being.
