Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We have pledged to offer employment opportunities to the whole of the Armed forces communities including Forces Family members. We are committed in advocating the Armed Forces Covenant and members of the covenant and encourage our partners to make a pledge to the covenant to help support our veteran community including Forces Family members. We are gold award holders which means we take our responsibility seriously to ensure we take pride in our pledge and continue the legacy of promoting the great work of the Covenant.

About us

We help support people struggling with: PTSD, Anxiety & Depression (inc. Postnatal depression), Isolation & Loneliness, Midlife Crisis and/or Veterans back to a better state of mind through walking talking and taking action. We have a specialist ten step program that helps people overcome a fear, get back into employment or education or simple social interaction to meet new people.

We connect people to organisations and professionals helping them to achieve their goals and helping them gain one step closer to finding their purpose in life. From my own personal lived experiences of homelessness, postnatal depression and as an Armed Forces veteran, I don't want others to go through the mental torment I have, so I set WTA up as I wanted someone to listen to me and point me into the right direction, because there is so much we don't know but so much that is out in the world. We have built up a strong trusting partnership with lots of professionals and organisations so we are able to signpost with absolute confidence.

We go on walks as that's where I felt things helped me, getting out of the four walls and into nature as that's where I feel everyone is equal. We are all born with a talent and I want to find yours as so many people leave this world with regrets I learned whilst working in the ambulance service. So when I got my first lot of funding for this I quit my job and continued with this and have helped so many people! It's been the best decision I've ever made and to see how many people are feeling better about themselves and some are now volunteers for us is just incredible. We came 2nd in the Your Hero's Awards for the Community Group of the Year Award and have just received our Gold Award in the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme for the MOD.
