Our Commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

  • Williams Shipping have signed the Armed Forces Covenant to show our commitment and support to the Armed Forces Community.
  • There are reservists currently working for Williams Shipping and we are committed to supporting their training by offering an additional 10 days unpaid leave per year.
  • Williams Shipping remain committed to supporting the employment of Reservists, and should mobilisations take place, then supporting the employee through this process and their eventual transition back to the workplace.
  • Williams Shipping maintain close links with 17 Port & Maritime Regiment, and over the past decade have employed 8 personnel across the business in a number of marine and transport roles.
  • Currently, Williams Shipping employs six Veterans and place a high value on the skills and work ethic they bring to the business.
  • Williams Shipping were first awarded the Silver Level Certificate in 2017.
  • Promote the Armed Forces Covenant and the Silver Award on our website and with certificates displayed in our offices.

About us

Williams Shipping is a family owned and run diverse marine and logistics business, established in 1894. Based in Southampton, but with offices in Pembroke and Aberdeen, we pride ourselves in always providing a first class service to our customers and working to the mantra of “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

We work for a broad range of customers in industries including marine and shipping, energy & power and construction.

We have four different divisions of the business:

  1. Williams Shipping Marine – providing vessel & barge charter, port services & marine civil engineering support
  2. Williams Shipping Transport – providing road transport & cargo handling services as well as warehousing & storage
  3. Williams Marine Lubricants – sales & distribution of marine lubricants
  4. Willbox – container sales, conversions & hire.
