Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Woody’s Lodge recognises the value of our armed forces community, both regular and reservists, veterans and military families contribute to our charity and country. Woody’s Lodge will endeavour to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:

• Promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation, using social media, website, leaflets, quarterly newsletters, and annual reports.
• Seeking to support the employment of veterans young and old, working with the Career Transition partnership (CTP) in order to establish a tailored employment pathway for service leavers; We currently employ 14 staff members, 9 veterans, 1 service spouse and 4 civilian specialists and we always actively look to employ veterans and service leavers where possible.
• Striving to support the employment of service spouses and partners; partners and spouses play a huge roll at Woody’s Lodge by being volunteers at our twice monthly Partner and Children Lunches.
• Supporting our employees who choose to be members of the reserve forces, by accommodating and supporting their training and deployment requirements.

About us

Woody’s Lodge is a meeting place for the Armed Forces or Emergency Services Community. At Woody’s Lodge you will find expert advice & support, friendship & camaraderie as well as meeting like-minded people who have similar experiences to you. With locations in North, South, and West Wales, we provide Armed Forces support across Wales.

Woody’s Lodge is also on hand to help the families and loved ones of our armed forces community. It can take some time and compromising to re-adjust to normal life after active service has ended. Our meeting areas provide a neutral space to get the help to our patrons and assist getting their families back on track.

Woody’s Lodge can help with Housing & Support, Benefits, Pensions & Finance, Agency & NHS Referrals and Socialising & Friends. From one-to-one assistance with form-filling with a brew & a biscuit to Family Days and activities, our team are on-hand to ensure our armed forces community receive the help and support they need and deserve.
