Job Description

Are you an experienced surveyor working in the residential development sector? The Cambridge Residential Development team are now recruiting an Associate Surveyor to join their growing team working on a variety of immediate & strategic land instructions whilst assisting in the growth of the consultancy, financial viability & agency side of the business. The experienced professional will assist the Head of residential Development on expansion as well as managing projects and schemes for both public and private clients.

Main tasks:

 

  • Manage and negotiate terms for Residential development land sales & acquisitions;
  • Provide development appraisal advice and development appraisal and land use assessments;
  • Project management of development opportunities;
  • Develop relationships with clients, attend client meetings ensuring requirements are met;
  • Attend meetings with housebuilders, landowners, promoters, and colleagues;
  • Report writing and drafting of marketing particulars; 
  • Compile and manage valuations using Argus Developer; 
  • Oversee general professional work such as marketing and business development; 
  • Manage the team with day-to-day activities including land searching, administration and ensure client files are kept up to date; 
  • Develop a knowledge of the Carter Jonas business structure, our clients, systems, and processes;
  • Guide clients through the asset evolution process;
  • Valuation of land assets;
  • Negotiate and structure Heads of Terms for transactions;
  • Provide support to junior team members;

 

What will it take to be successful?

 

You will ideally be MRICS qualified and have gained post qualification experience within residential development and consultancy and agency. You will have demonstratable experience of development appraisals, advisory, disposal and acquisitions. It is key that you also understand strategic land consultancy and agency work. As an Associate, we are looking for you to be passionate and ambitious to succeed in the role and team. This will shown through the advice provided to clients and helping to grow the business further. Support to junior members will also be required through coaching and mentoring to ensure they are developing professionally.
